What Happens at Book Club:
Daily instruction in books either at their independent or instructional level.
Rereading - The first part of the lesson is always a time to reread books from the previous
two days.
Books and Assessment (one student) of Instructional Text from the day before.
Phonics & Word Work Activities
Letter/Word Work Activities
Writing - There are three types of writing we will do:
*Interactive (we write "together" a sentence/paragraph about a book we have read)
*Dictated (I tell them what to write about a previously read book)
*Independent (they choose what they would like to write about a previously read book)
Comprehension - we will have “conversations” to observe key understandings about the text
Running Records on each individual child once in a 2 week cycle
